signalredshaker
I am trying to cure the oil leak from my overdrive and have now removed it from the car (with gearbox - heavy!) so I can attempt to reduce the flow of oil which seems to be getting worse. I've replaced the brass plug and fibre gaskets and the operating shaft "O" ring at the actuator end whilst on the car with minimal success. The leak seems to be coming from both the adaptor plate and the brake ring so its a strip and re-seal. Any ideas on which may be the best sealant? James

Drewmotty
Welseal used very sparingly and carefully. Globules of sealant circulating can block the small orifices in an overdrive and you can easily wreck it if the overdrive sticks in and the car is reversed. check the adaptor plate for flatness. If it is bent (very common) it can be replaced with a new design plate which is stronger than the oem part.
