Starter Motor removal

Hi Peter,

go for the steering column.

Undo the top rubber UJ. You can then move it aside to get the motor out. Still a bit of a faff.

Consider fitting a modern Hi-Torque motor - simply for the ease of removal.

Take note of the bolt that clamps the rubber UJ to the shaft splines. 

They need to be very very tight to have any effect. have a look at the pic below. The clamp is designed badly and needs relieving to ensure a secure clamp.

The bottom rubber UJ is more difficult to tighten.
