Raymond Guy
Where can I have the release pressures tested in or near to Cardiff?
openroad
Hi, do you know Spiro, in Cardiff...he restores TRs. Cheers Conrad.
barkerwilliams
Compressed air line, gradually open the pressure regulator found on most compressors. Injectors set to about 50-55 psi. If you point the injector at a bucket of water you can see by the pattern on the water surface if the injector is opening evenly or one-sided. As the pressure is reduced it is really important that the injectors shut off 100% - again pointing the injector at a bucket of water will show if injector has fully closed. Don't blast water about just hold away from surface.. I would not recommend attempting to adjust but if you feel you have a sticky injector give them a quick test before committing to send off to a specialist. Andy Moltu
Checking the opening pressure is simple enough with a pressure regulator as Alan says. Just connect the airline to the inlet of the injector and increase the pressure until it opens. If the opening pressure is out of range they can be adjusted. There is a special tool to adjust them apparently.(But who has got one of those at home?) However you can take them apart by removing the circlip and screwing the threads in or out - reassemble and test again until the pressure is right. It's a bit of a faff but doesn't take too long.
