foster461
Twice recently conditions have required that I slip the clutch to get out of a tricky situation. Both times I have noticed the familiar smell of the clutch plate. No other issues during normal driving. Does this mean clutch failure is imminent ? Stan Wrong forum.. this was meant to go in the TR6 forum. Clutch replaced in 2008, done around 40,000 miles since then. Edited September 17, 2019 by foster461
Mike C
Put the car in 4th, rev the engine to about 3500 rpm and release the clutch. If the engine stalls the clutch is probably Ok to use at least until next winter's maintenance checks.
Sapphire72
If you can start out in 3rd gear, then the clutch has life left in it. Edited September 18, 2019 by Sapphire72
