harrytr5
Has anyone fitted a Hugo electric fuel pump. This is a plastic body sucker pump located low down in the engine bay, made in 'Germany' and sold in a lucas green box. It cost £65 delivered and the vendor could not answer my questions and it has stopped working (just send it back for a refund) so I am going over to SU Burlens electronic pump fitted in the boot and is made here (around £150) but at least they could answer and I like to support our manufacturers. PhilipB
Harry Was it really a Huco pump? If so it should come in a blue box with Huco all over it. If it came in a green box it doesn't sound as if it was a genuine part. There are some cheap copies being sold on Ebay. Huco do two types, one suitable for installation in the boot and the other as a suction pump for installing in the engine bay Huco (Hueco.com) are a German company owned by Hitachi Just fitted to TR2 to feed twin Webers. Robin Powell
I agree with Philip, Lucas is nothing to do with Huco. I have had a Huco pump in the TR4A for about 3 years now with no problems. It is the correct pressure (2.1 psi) for SU/Strombergs and tops your carbs up nicely when starting. harrytr5
Thanks Tom that picture and pump speaks volumes. Regards HarryTR5 Nutter
harrytr5
I believe it was a fake Chinese one bought on Ebay. I have now purchased one off of Gower and Lee cab specialist in Watford. This Huco comes in the proper blue box with 5 year guarantee written on it complete with instructions.Apart from the giveaway Lucas box (fake) and no instructions they look identical. I noticed the font or makers name etc was in the middle of the pump on the real one.The fake one had it nearer the bottom. This pump fits thousands of cars so must make it worthwhile to fake. Just be careful out there. Regards Harry TR5 Nutter
