bluerinse
Just a general interest question. While restoring my 69 uk car I notice that the pedal mounting plate and the bulkhead are designed to mount the clutch master direct to the front of the bulkhead. Instead Triumph go to lengths to mount it above. Why? Is there any reason/benefit to putting it where they originally designed? At the least you could do away with the rubber boot that doesn't fit! Andy Moltu
It may be that the bulkhead is a bit flimsy and would crack with time. The 2000s and Stags had it mounted to the bulkhead and it can be a real swine to access the bolts/nuts/clevis pin in the driver's footwell.
graeme
LHD cars do indeed have the clutch MC mounted on the bulkhead and don't experience any problems. You will find it difficult/impossible to to do this on a RHD car as it will foul the PI equipment, hence being mounted above. Cheers Graeme
