Ally
Hi All I have a stuck nut problem! The top nut securing my front suspension assembly is well and truly jammed. The one that sits in the big cup washer and holds everything together. I have compressed the spring, held the cup washer still, attacked it with a large breaker bar and it won't budge. (It is not attached to the car, by the way). So, I got an impact wrench. Still no luck. So, I got a blow torch to heat it up - and caught fire to the rubber mounting. A lot of stinking smoke, but still the nut is stuck. What do I try now? Can anyone think of a way to get this stubborn lump of metal to come loose, or is it time I learned how to use an angle grinder? Help please......this is all that is stopping my suspension overhaul and getting the TR7 back on the road for summer Cheers Ally
jonlar
Hi Ally, one possibility is to cut the nut with a cold chisel and hammer or air chisel, another way could be to weld something to it to give leverage and get more heat into it.
