They should be short reach and I too have seen long ones fitted, sometimes with not good results.

Luckily for whoever fitted them no damage ensued. Likewise for the other cock ups.

I'm of the opinion that the previous owner should never have been let near a spanner. All the jobs he didn't pay to get done he had done badly.
Just re-bushed the front suspension found the job half done - near side had been done with a number of bolts left loose and some of the bushes on the off side changed and others not. Presumably these were the ones that didn't want to come out! No wonder the car was unconvincing under braking and handled like a dog.Spax dampers didn't help if you leave the bottom bolt loose! Front wheel bearings assembled with no seals.

Glad I started with the brakes and should be relieved he paid someone else to fit an unleaded head a few years ago.

I would be tempted to say he shouldn't be allowed dead near a spanner, but he is dead!

Oh for the great car bodgers! Probably number as many as builders, plumbers, roofers & the like! It is a British trait I think!

Monty - I'd put our quota of dodgy plumbers and builders up against yours any day - we're awash with them....and the authorities who licence them are just as dodgy..

Just confirming the plugs for 4As are supposed to be short reach.

Just come to change mine for the first time and removed some long reach ones.

Have there been any repairs done to the head? Might have involved a longer plug on one or more of the pots. Just a thought.
