Z320
This post was lost at "so what happened in your garage this weekend", posted by Ed from Nebraska/USA Some better pics of the tubing straightener. The aluminum blocks are 7" x 1" x 0.5". You should be able to closely estimate the other dimensions from those, though none are particularly critical. The V-groove bearings are industry number RM2 2RS. A Google search will turn up a lot of places to buy them. Those bearings work for a range of tubing sizes, but for 5/16" tubing, if the tool is adjusted too tight, the sharp tops of the grooves will leave marks. The standard shoulder bolts I used required a couple of thin shims to tighten up the fit. Ed Edited May 18, 2019 by Z320
Z320
RM2 ZZ also works

Chilliman
Folks, I know this may seem a little low tech by the above standards but it's only a fiver & made by Sealey and it works a treat.......
RogerH
Hi John, yes, that is quite neat indeed. I would imagine that it works best from a fresh spool of tubing. For a test give it a really wiggly pipe Roger
Chilliman
I Don't use a really wiggly pipe......

Z320
Hi, today I had to work with wood and by accident I made this tool from a piece of teak. The V-groove I made on both sides, use it with the V-groove on the pipe like a brush while I spin the pipe. Simple and low cost to make, easy to use, good result for 3/16" copper pipe.
