John Morrison
Morning all, Recently refitted all rear electrics after some refurbishment. Now on checking the car for a run tomorrow, with the sidelights on, touching the brakes causes the rear lights to go out? Earth, I hear you all cry, but the rear lamp bodies are earthed through their fixings, and I can run around with a supplementary earth, but curious as it was fine last time I looked. John. RogerH
Hi John, it will be something simple. Start by removing a bulb at a time and rechecking. Roger
Lebro
This is exactly what will happen if the earth connection on the bulb is poor, so I would check your earthing arrangements most carefully, maybe there is paint under the connection to body ? Bob. P.S. Odd that it happens on both sides if you are earthing the bulbs to the fitting (i.e. not a common earth.) A few checks with a volt meter will should reveal what is going on.
