steve26
Hi, MY 1958 TR3 has developed a brake problem. Always parked in garage with handbrake off. When when reversing out of garage, apply (foot) brake. Rear offside brake sticks on. It does eventually release. and operates OK when driving. In fact it passed the MOT only a few weeks ago. I have removed the drum for inspection, all seems OK. Any suggestions before I resort to complete dismantle? Thanks, regards Steve
Steves_TR6
A sticking rear wheel cylinder, ie not sliding on the backplate? they need occasional greasing steve

stuart
Check the inside of the back plate where the handbrake lever swivels in the cylinder base there is more than likely a groove worn in the back plate, no amount of greasing will get the cylinder to move then. You need to fill the groove with weld and grind back smooth then the cylinder will slide properly. Stuart.
