Trevor W
Is replacing the above a big job ? It does not include discs/drum, just the master cylinder/servo and lines. I am having difficulty obtaining accurate quotes for this work as my mechanic is worried that to complete this work it might involve major time work, engine removal or the like. There is no guidance on hours required etc in Haynes. So, if you have completed this task, how long in hours might it take ? Many thanks in advance.
Waldi
If done properly, and nothing seized, It would take me about one day, but I’m not in a hurry when in my garage. Is there a reason why you do you leave the brake callipers and rear cylinders untouched? Engine does not need removal for this job. Waldi
Trevor W
Thanks Waldi, very helpful. Callipers/Rear cylinders are fairly new - perhaps the pipes/hoses should have been done then but, I'm getting there ! Again, many thanks. Trevor W
Chilp3
Hi Trevor, Before replacing items such as the brake master cylinder and servo it may be worth considering getting your existing units restored especially if they're original. You could try Past Parts for example www.pastparts.co.uk Best Regards, Peter
