50 MB allowance exceeded

Recommended Posts

When trying to list images for a classified ad, I was prevented as I only had a limited amount of space available - 1.38MB.

As a first step I deleted previous ad's, just in case they were taking up space - no effect.

Could it be the images that are stored under Media Manager are using up storage space?

How do I clear down Media Manager images, cant find any functionality on the page??

Any help welcome.

Confused Hereford...

This question has been around since the forum upgrade - How do you remove items from "my attachments" ?

Has anyone found out how to remove these attachments yet?

Stuart.

What I did was to go into each of the topics/posts showing alongside each image in ‘My Attachments’ and then edit the post to remove the image.

Slightly long winded, but it worked.

OK, but it would be much better to be able to delete the attachment directly.

Hi Folks,

all the same forum platforms as we use here also do not have a delete facility for attachments.  Clearly it is beyond their abilities to sort this.

If you remove your attachment it may/will fragment the thread that it is on. Making searches possibly futile.

Rather than doing a simple delete why not remove the image and replace with a smaller image. I use MS paint to resize - very simple.

Using a 100Kb image you can have 500 images active. Go down to 50Kb (still a good image)  will give 1000 images.

So - do not up load big images (1Mb etc_ ) try and keep them small but useful (100Kb is nice).

Roger
