salec
Hi folks .... My TR4A is currently running Michelin 165 HR 15 XAS tyres on wire wheels ... has done since I bought it. But they are beginning to show age but not wear -- beginning to perish -- so need to replace them. Can anyone recommend any other boots as I know the Michelins are difficlt to find and a bit too expensive for my budget at the moment. Would appreciate some other recommendations. Thanks in advance Steve
RogerH
Hi Steve, have a look on the CamSkill site. Thye have some good prices. The Vredstein tyres are very good on our cars. The T-TRac is a cheaper tyre at apprx £50. but looks grim. The classic sprint looks good but is £120 a corner. - very good tyre though, https://www.camskill.co.uk/ Roger Edited March 26, 2019 by RogerH
BlueTR3A-5EKT
This subject has been covered recently and is searchable on this forum. One of the favoured tyres is the Vredestein T Track2 165*80*15 - although the sidewall design offends some owners. Other cheap but OK options are Hankook. Hamish
I wouldn’t hesitate in getting the vredestein sprint classics I have the 185 on mine but the 165 are available https://www.oponeo.co.uk/tyre-details/vredestein-sprint-classic-165-80-r15-86-h#247560226 I did a very wet track day with them last year I was really impressed with the wet grip. See here vredestein do a more modern pattern at a more affordable price as well but I have no experience of them. https://www.oponeo.co.uk/tyre-details/vredestein-t-trac-2-165-80-r15-87-t#247577199 lots of experience and opinions on this forum tho. Charlie D
Steve, I sometimes spend weeks looking for the best prices on anything I buy, and usually, as far as tyres are concerned, I agree with Roger. https://www.camskill.co.uk No connection, just a happy customer. Just checked: the T Trac2 are now £38.95 inc VAT Classic sprint £107.00 But their prices do seem to change day by day... Charlie. Lebro
Do Camskill prices include delivery ? Ononeo do Bob.
Rodbr
Just fitted a set of T Trac 2 and after you get over the lurid sidewall which is all it is, the tyre performance which I like a lot is what matters. I fitted them to my winter shoes. For information I have no experience of fitting car tyres but I was able to fit them without damage to my new Knock on Minilites. getting them inflated is a problem but if you use a soapy bicycle inner tube on each side and hit them with a wooooosh of air they pop on a treat. All round I am pleased with them and the price when compared to my XAS which I have on my chrome wires is a no brainer. The steering is lighter without rack and pinion steering but they feel precise and do not "walk " the way the XAS do. Rod

Charlie D
Bob, 47 minutes ago, Lebro said: Do Camskill prices include delivery ? Ononeo do No, Camskill charged me £15.00 per set for delivery. And of course you have to pay £10-15 each tyre to get them fitted locally. Charlie.
Lebro
So ononeo is cheaper then P.S. Oh no they are not ! Camskill are £17.20 cheaper for 4 tyres, & £21.50 cheaper for 5. Bob. (after doing some maths) Edited March 26, 2019 by Lebro

David B2
Steve, I have recently purchased a set of Continental CT22. 165x80x15. They look good although not run on the car yet. Have seen them recommended for classic cars incl TRs. From SETYRES in sevenoaks at £64 incl fitting. Plus £10 for the inner tubes. They keep them for the local Morgan dealer and have them in stock. Setyres also have outlets in East Sussex local to you. Hope this is of help. David B
