niklas
Dear all, We're planning a trip accross the Alps next May. With preparing the TR2 (TS1757) we found one of the wiper drive spindles to be damaged. The usual suppliers do not have a replacement spinle or box. Do you have any suggestions where to source a replacement spindle or box? Thanks!!! Niklas
RogerH
Hi Niklas as only a few teeth are damaged would it be possible to rotate the gear so that when operating the damage does not come in contact with the drive cable This is done on the later cars with success Roger
tim hunt
+1. As usual Roger is very quickly off the mark and right on the money! Tim
niklas
Thanks for the advice! If no replacement spindle is available, this would be the way to go. Cheers!
BlueTR3A-5EKT
Perhaps this could be used to repair - it looks similar and uses a CRT wiper motor like a TR2? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LUCAS-CRT-WIPER-RACK-30-FOR-AUSTIN-A30-WITH-WHEELBOXES-72592K-A30-A35-ETC/392248766507?hash=item5b53d9302b:g:D2YAAOSwYpVcdYmm I am not certain of the suitability but it looks close. Note that durng production of A30/35 other varities of wheelboxes could have been used. Check before purchase. Thanks!!
