Engine stand

Recommended Posts

I have the same stand, but mounted it on the rhs engine support (the 4 3/8”? Bolts) in this way you can work on the crackshaft too. It was a bit off the centre of gravity of the engine, so you need to be carefull when turning,  but it worked ok for me.

I bolted the engine straight on the black plate, did not use the slotted adapter brackets, so had to drill 2 holes for this in the black plate.

Edit: apologies, mine was a 6 cyl, not sure how this works out for a 4 cyl.

Hi Lee,

the four pot engine is not so frightening when mounted. I always feel the vertical strut is going to snap - but never does.

Use the four adjustable arms to get the block centred as best as possible to make rotation less frightful.

As mentioned - crank work is not so easy but not too much of a problem to set the block down on a workmate etc and remove the stand.
