Grahamgl
Gentlemen, A couple of questions please. What size and thread is the 45’ elbow that comes out of the cylinder head to the heater valve. A few years ago there was an article in TR Action showing how a stainless steel bush with a plug was used to replace the gearbox filler plug. Can someone tell me what size and thread the original type gearbox filler plug is please. Thanks Graham
RogerH
Hi Graham, the heater valve elbow is 3/8BSP. GB probably the same but not sure !! Roger.
Hamish
Isn’t the gearbox plug a tapered hole. Which is why it can’t be done up all along the plug thread ???? Or is it the plug that’s tapered. Edited February 21, 2019 by Hamish Thought some more !!
RogerH
Hi Hamish, probably the plug but could be both. Roger
Z320
on my gearbox it is tapered, drill and plug. Friend of mine made some with hex head and magnet, also the same on 4 cylinder engine oil sump. Edited February 21, 2019 by Z320
