mark_smugglers Posted February 15, 2019 Report Share Posted February 15, 2019 Hi With no switches at all for the wipers or washers I’ve rapidly realised that the original clear hooters switches are like hens teeth. Quick question: I’ve read that the chrome on the replacements can be polished off to leave them black underneath. Steves_TR6 Posted February 15, 2019 Report Share Posted February 15, 2019 Yes, i did that on my last (cp) car, pretty easy i did find i had to open out the metal dash opeing as the new switch was larger...... which resulted in a trip to a&e as i didnt wear safety specs ! steve Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Waldi Posted February 15, 2019 Report Share Posted February 15, 2019 I carefully scratched the chrome off with a sharp Stanley knife, being careful not to scratch the black base material, then polished with some alu polish followed by car wax.
