Z320
Hi, I've already got another question: how do I bolt the gear box cover sealed on the gearbox? The question goes not the the paper seal or liqued seal (I will take only Dirko gray). I is relating to the 8 bolts and washers. All 8 threads go through the gearbox's flange, so the threads of all 8 bolts have contact to the oil "atmosphere" of the gearbox. Or is there no need to care about this because the cover has a ventilation drill? Ciao Marco
RogerH
Hi Marco, I think sealing the bolts/Screws would be good as although there is no positive pressure to push oil out there is capillary action up the threads interface. I use the simple paper gasket + silicon sealant https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?search_group=&q=silicon+sealant The bolt/screws have spring washers that can not seal properly so I coat them in the sealant also. Z320
Hmmm, I guess I will use Loctite 242 (medium) on the bolts and further keep an eye on the 4 shorter bolts of the 8.
