Tim T
Have just removed the drive shafts from my car and they appear to be in good order. However after 40 years in storage they are just a touch grimy. Could somebody please recommend the best method of cleaning the joints and splines and then a suitable grease for reassembly. Many thanks, Tim
RogerH
Hi Tim, the splines are easy. Split the shaft and clean in paraffin etc. Re-lubricate with any decent grease (LM or Moly) The UJ's are difficult. Any cleaning the does not include complete dis-assembly may get muck on the needle rollers. Either break them down completely or install new quality UJ's Roger
TriumphV8
https://www.landroverexpedition.com/articles/universal-joint-differences/ TVC10010 is todays choice for TR6 but the one with the longer needles should only be taken from a good supplier like GKN.
