Eddie Cairns
The guys used a 6mtr wide vibrating screed on my floor.
james christie
That's a seriously wide garage then! james
Eddie Cairns
A garage is never ever wide enough or long enough.
EliTR6
I have a cj auto tilting lift that worked fine with my aborted tr6 project. I can't get it to fit under the 3. The pads are either too far apart (with smaller middle section fitted) or fall within the inside of the chassis rails (no middle section). @Hamish how do you get your one lined up? Thanks

Thanks Hi it only just fits to be honest. With the flat pads slid innermost but it was stable enough to do my front suspension at that time. the tilt was extreme enough for the steering box oil to come out of the lower tube section. EliTR6
Just now, Hamish said: Hi it only just fits to be honest. I'm thinking that cutting 15cm or so out of the middle sections should allow the pads to go in the right place.
Hamish
Yes I considered doing that. but to be honest I use a jack and axle stands more. it would be better if it could stay down and drive over it. i only have a single garage and It’s a challenge to slide it under

I have to jack up the front to slide it under. I figure it's a shame to have it and not use it
Hamish
I know what you mean. My drill is only just powerful enough but helps if I wind it up and take a bit of weight off the springs. It pushes it up fine after that. I suppose the thinner bar between the lift gearboxes is cutable ?
EliTR6
No reason why it wouldn't work. Will wait until I can borrow a grinder though!
mike3md
The square extension sections and the central drive bar section are easily cutable with a hacksaw, and the cut ends are hidden inside the "female"ends. Mike

EliTR6
It's alive!!! A few worrying creaks and lots of groaning but pads are in the right place and I could easily tilt the car from one end to the other. I figure if the chassis can't handle this then it won't handle being driven I took 12cm off each of the middle sections And I can leave it flat if I park carefully! Woohoo!
