RogerH
Hi Folks, does anybody have access to measuring the Glove box lamp holder. These are not available and a member would like one made. If you do have access to measure one I need the - ID of the lamp hole, OD of the retainer Diameter of the top hat Depth of the Top hat. Item 47 https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/shop-by-model/triumph/tr5-6/interior/dashboards-consoles/dash-crash-pads-fittings-tr5-6.html Roger
ed_h
Roger-- I can't get to my glove box right now, but until someone else responds, would a picture help? Fore scale, the rivets are 1/8" diameter. Ed
elclem1
Hi roger I have just made one for a glove box using a lamp holder from an old wiring loom, I made the item 47 and used a led lamp. I can send photos on my return from hols . clemClem

DaveN
Found it! Twas in the bin. Think I may just hang on to it! Edited January 5, 2019 by DaveN
DaveN
Roger do you want to borrow this as a pattern?
RogerH
Hi Dave, I was given some of the dimensions yesterday that has enabled me to make a working version. Could you send me all the three diameters and the depth of the top hat section to confirm I am close. Roger
DaveN
I’ll get on the case and measure it for you and none of this metric ****! Getting ready for our BREXIT it will be in proper units!
DaveN
Overall 2 inch diameter nominal Depth of the top hat 3/16 inch nominal The offset is very slightly domed.... due to the pressing no doubt! So the base is 1 3/16 inch down to 1 inch. Obviously it’s radius edges. centre hole measures 5/8 inch rivet pitch 1 7/16 inch
RogerH
Thanks Dave, I am pretty close. My top hat is nearer 10mm deep. Roger
Mark69
Thank you Roger, fits a treat. Not having the original for reference, could someone please tell me which side of the cubby box it's located. RHD 69. Thanks in advance Mark.

ydnapluk
Gents, I was so glad to come across this thread, as I also need a solution for the glove box lamp retainer. Roger, did you fabricate the part in Mark's photo or were you able to find an off-the-shelf lamp part to modify? I'm in Maryland in the U.S. but if this is part is too difficult to make, I would be interested in buying someone's NOS piece to save it from the bin The dangling bulb and socket in the cubby is not a very good look at all. Thanks for a nudge in the right direction. Andy
