ptr2
Guys, are the leaf springs paired, as I see the smallest leaf is offset to one side of the centre pickup bolt, using standard springs on the car by the way. cheers
iain
Interesting observation. Is it? A picture would be useful. I thought spring leaves were symmetrically placed and springs ideally paired. I know from discussion with Paul Richardson, that Ken Richardson made a big deal with the “works cars” of ensuring spring rates were properly matched. Apparently cars from the production line could have interesting behaviour as a result of poorly matched springs. Iain
stuart
Thats correct they are slightly biased towards the front by 1 1/2" I would think this would be to counteract axle wind up under acceleration. Stuart.
foster461
The originals also had an extra short bit of spring on the passenger side. I did not see that on my new repro springs. Stan

I didnt realize that was a special provision for the ahem heavier American drivers.
