Robert Price
Started to remove the sill seat belt bolt with socket after about 1/4 inch it suddenly got tighter and the socket then slipped on the narrow bolt head. It is not totally mullered but any ideas as ring spanner and socket will not do it. Rob
DaveN
Are you using a bi hex socket if so get a plain hex one. Plus give it plenty of penetrating oil. Also work it back and forth. If you have the trim out you could always give it some heat too!
astontr6
Hi Rob! Make sure that old underseal is not gumming up the threads, you may have to use petrol or Plus-Gas to soften up the old under-seal as I have had this problem in the past. Bruce..
RogerH
Hi Robert, as above. Penetrating fluid. Tighten it back up and then more fluid. Clean the thread. Undo - if it gets tighter then repeat above. Roger
Robert Price
Thank you all will give it another go. Rob
Waldi
Rob, if the threaded end of the bolt is corroded, the same will happen. See if you can clean or lube it, if you can get at it. Regards, Waldi

Rogcastle
Hi Rob + 1 Waldi & M Have just come across this problem. In most cases, with a bit of luck you can re tighten the bolt as the socket will exert pressure on the other side of the bolt face. Keep cleaning and oiling the thread at the same time tighten and undo the bolt gradually until its out. Be patient and do it slowly. If the socket still slips try every socket or ring spanners in your box including metric sizes until you get a tight fit. Last resort try a cold chisel. Best of luck Roger
