Nickffc Posted December 2, 2018 Report Share Posted December 2, 2018 evening..... putting my front suspension back together and one of the stub axles was damaged (threads)... got a new one from RB and tonight started fitting the hubs back on. I'm using the old bearing as i had only changed these a month before deciding to start my restoration... and they don't fit on the new stub axle...???? tried the bearings on the damaged stub and they fit ok...! Are there different versions of Stub axle for the TR6..? of have got a duff new part..? cheers nick Quote Link to post Share on other sites

tim hunt Posted December 3, 2018 Report Share Posted December 3, 2018 Strangely, when I fitted an anti- knock off kit and new Timken bearings some years ago I found that the ID of the inner bearings was just too small to pass over the existing stub axles, I had to resort to wet and dry to remove probably only a few fractions of a thou to get the bearings to fit.
