One for the Cumbria Group GL?

Recommended Posts

Hi John,

see from previous postings you are still metal bashing, hope you are all good?

Yes saw this item, nothing to do with me, thinking  though I have/do recommend Lancaster Engines  for those needing services in

our part of the world, pehaps thats a clue?

Engine does look clean enough but I pesonally have never had a 4 pot motor done, only ever a crank.

John.

That would be the 4A head.

Thanks  for the correction bob. :D

I took my original learning from here

I know that the 4A heads are different to the 4 ones, - the combustion chamber is a different shape, I thought they could be identified by the flat you refer to, but having read your link, I may be wrong on that point, he does not refer to the 4A head being different though. I'm sure someone else on here will know.

Bob.

Hamish,

Depends upon accuracy of Mk1 eyeball but check out the inlet ports, they look to be 1 5/8s" dia for the first 1/4 " as machined on TR3a up to TR4, the inlets on TR4a were 1 1/2" dia.
