joinathanbrooks
I think I have seen a posting regarding the rear bumper joint although cannot find it. On assembling the rear bumper ready for fitting the rear bumper joint is "squeezing" out between centre section and side pieces causing sides to point outward. Can anybody advise on how to avoid this or a good replacement?
foster461
Bumper flanges distorted ?. I assembled my rear bumper on the car, center section first. Easier to do with one person on a newly painted car. It was a bit of a fiddle but I was able to insert and tighten the bolts after attaching the two side pieces. That will help keep things aligned and let you tighten the bolts enough to secure the end pieces but not so much that you distort the hard black plastic finishers. DRD
Yes as Stan has said the only way I've managed to refit a rear bumper is by doing the centre section first then attaching the side pieces afterwards. You then start to tighten everything up and it draws the side pieces in. Its very fiddly and I had to use a very long extension on the socket with a U-J to access the inner most bolt.
