Waldi
When I did my body, I bought 2 engine stands with the idea to use as a rotisserie, but during the project I decided to use a single matress and tilt te body 90 degrees, and that was sufficient for me. The majority of the work was removal of body schutz before blasting, and some welding, but most of that I had done with the body on the chassis. This is certainly not as nice/good as a rotisserie, but it did the task. I used 2 straps to limit movement or falling of the body. Waldi
PodOne
You can still mount the tub on a rotisserie by replicating the chassi rails in wood and attaching the bumper irons to it. Works ok. There is little weight in the tub or chassi on their own and even together my rotisserie coped ok and has made jobs more of a pleasure than a toil and can be done single handed. Tim T
Dave, Will send you a pm. There are 2 reasons for the split poles.Firstly, location of the car in my shed does not allow sufficient length to pass a single pole straight through? Secondly, it is not possible to get a straight line that clears the rear valance top/ bottom of boot aperture through gearbox aperture and through the grille aperture. Hence an offset in the pole. I find it works really well though as I can set the car to any angle I need, secure it with a couple of bits of timber, and do it all safely single handed. Tim T
Dave, I attached some images showing how the spit is secured to the car. It is very sturdy and only has 2 loadbearing points on the car at the strongest points. Works very well but as you say not appropriate for a 6! Slight oversight on my part. Tim Tim, Thanks for the additional photos. Given me an idea. Dave
