So the chassis is shot-blasted and ready for the CTM strengthening kit. Before I start welding I had decided to remove the front NS wishbone bracket (the extent of damage and previous poor fixing was evident after shot-blasting) and replace with new, and also the rear NS diff pin and mount (similar story). The diff mount was easy enough to remove, but the underside of the pin had also been welded (see pic) inside the rear bridge; anyone got a cunning technique to cut off the pin inside the bridge to get to the weld base?

All helpful suggestions appreciated

As you will be re-enforcing it from above I would just take the measurements to determine the dead centre of the pin and cut a square out round it from above then weld a plate in and re-drill for the new pin. Weld the pin in and then weld the re-enforcing plate right across the top and then fit the lower box and re-enforcing sides.

Stuart.
