Makes sense as the wiper assembly is all removed, so grease or dirt must have kept it in place under the overhang until the water blew it out. Of course I had to go out and check, and there's the other one rusted solid to the wheelbox and looking like an integral part of it. At least I have both so no need to try to source one.
