Tim D.
I want to run a small bead of sealant around the front of the webasto in my hard top. Ideally I want the sealant to be clear so that it is less visible. Obvious candidate is silicone but I don't like using this stuff on metal as it uses acetic acid as a solvent. Normally I use polyurethane instead but cannot find it in clear. Any thoughts? Tim
Waldi
Maybe Bison Polymax? This is a good strong kit that remains flexible. Also available in transparent. Waldi
RogerH
Hi Tim, if you simply want the roof shut for the whole of the RBRR then why not use a good windscreen sealant https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/windscreen-sealant-mqc1136.html Stays flexible and is water tight. Easily cleaned off. Roger
Tim D.
Roger. No I want to use it. Will be great on the bits in Scotland if the weather is good. The bit I want to seal is where the frame meets the roof. Tim
iain
I wouldn’t use silicon if you ever want to paint near it again. A clear polyurethane sealant would be a better bet Iain
