Took my cousin out to lunch. She was born in 1918.   Tom

Lovely end to a lovely day. Crisp winter coastal run, and down to the beach for a stroll at sundown.  Happy new year all, Deggers

On the 28th June 1958, Jim Clark competed in his personal TR3 at the Rest and Be Thankful Hillclimb, coming in third in class, first in class was Jim Clark in a Porsche 356. It just so happens that TS2 was visiting Scotland on the 28th June 2022, so what better reason could there be for TS2 visiting the Rest. Richard and I made the trip to a somewhat moist Rest today to mark the occasion.

8 TRs, 1 BMW and 2 motorbikes (one being a triumph) from the Redrose group had a visit to Ellenroad steam museum to watch the world’s largest working steam mill engine running. We then had a run over the Pennies. just before the end some members stopped to put there roofs on as it was drizzling and one added some more fuel. It didn’t ran so glad I didn’t put my roof on thanks for a great day.

Dropped the van off at Powderham camp site before the Crash box Historic Vehicle Gatherings held at Powderham Castle.

Real good show with virtually every classic car make plus steam and Military vehicles on site too.
largest show in South West me thinks. Well worth a visit .

my dad used to love that show

he went in a succession of his cars from his alvis 4.3 special ( driven by the famous Jenks here) to a 1913 Overland driven from kingswear.
