sunset at John o'Groats

Took my cousin out to lunch. She was born in 1918.   Tom

Lovely end to a lovely day. Crisp winter coastal run, and down to the beach for a stroll at sundown.  Happy new year all, Deggers

Tom,

from what I know; this units have been used because they do not protrude around the corner, because 'the rear end sometimes wants to hit something during rally driving' ..... according to the previous owner........

it will be changed to the original  TR6 units.....

Marcel.

Trip to our local surf spot. About 20mi away. My wife met us there and relaxed with friends while a bunch of us got pummelled by waves.

The drive home in the dark sans board was incredible. The 3 is a mean machine.

Great to see your TR and your passenger too. Sounds like you had a lot of fun. The cylinder head can wait!

LVG we’re out at The Silverstone Classic yesterday. Thanks to TRR for the Tea & Biscuits. It was a bit windy at times, but only the odd shower, meant a good day overall.

I was not in my TR but did visit Helmingham (Suffolk) Festival of Classic & Sports Cars, on Sunday afternoon.

Spotted a number of TR's  ..a couple of which left early and so I didn't get to see them or to meet the owners but here's a few piccies of those I did get to . . .

^ briefly met this very nice chap & owner, Colin I believe from Norfolk (Abbott & Stour group)

^ same car, keeping good company with a Stag

otherwise I was strangely drawn to this,  fantastically restored . . .

^ Triumph Herald powered I told

^ Amphicar.  According to the owner it was in dire condition when he bought and then restored it.  Although previously used in salt water, he prefers to use it on the Norfolk Broads.   It's certainly a credit to his dedication and skills.

There were a few other cars there too, including a few nice Heralds and Triumph saloons, and couple of beautiful post war Triumph Roadsters too.

It's a very pleasant show, but perhaps a little too short with traffic queues, preventing many visitors from getting in before 11am, and then cars started to leave as early as 3pm.  Mind you the exhibitor's queues to leave the show after 5pm were pretty dire in light drizzle too . .

Not been to far this morning, but done a few miles on the rolling road for a health check, Just had needle mods on the carburettors all seems good to go now. We have a few holidays coming up so hopefully she’ll run as she should with no problems.

Hi David, we have a read out of Peak power 122.3 @ 4911 Rpm and Peak torque 144.6 lb ft @ 3545 Rpm.

Mike redrose group

That sounds very good for a standard engine. I assume it's not particularly modified?

Thinking it over, must be modified, if TR4s only produced an extra 5bhp as standard, how do you explain the other 17.3 without telling fibs?
