Took my cousin out to lunch. She was born in 1918.   Tom

Lovely end to a lovely day. Crisp winter coastal run, and down to the beach for a stroll at sundown.  Happy new year all, Deggers

After completing my engine rebuild and a few local test runs, it was time for a running in tour of the Peak District.

Hi Mick, nice picture!

i see you have the mx5 ‘phoenix’ seats, how do you find them for comfort?

Steve, much better than TR seats but I don't like the fixed high backs. Still looking for nice moveable headrest versions.

Derek, feeling much better but still isolating for a few more days but could not resist a drive in the sunshine, on my own. Linda now has it.

Got out in the TR today, alas only to back up about 6 metres in the driveway, and drive forward to test the clutch, then went indoors for a lovely Cappucino and Welsh rarebit.

But one thing I’ve noticed…. the clutch has for some time been quite heavy on my TR4a. The clutch and the release arm/ bearing are quite new. But whilst overhauling the gearbox I noticed some fluid behind the dust cover on the slave cylinder. Ordered a new slave kit, cleaned it, fitted and bled it, and hey presto a clutch which genuinely feels 50% lighter, ( the pin is in the centre hole as before).Very pleased. Hopefully, weather permitting, tomorrow will bring a drive over the South Downs!

All kinds of weather today.

Hail and snow on the drive home across Cornwall this evening.

Then arrived on the north shore to this . . .

That’s a proper calendar picture to rival Dan’s in the Pacific.

Today I went with some friends to Brooklands in Surrey. My friend Paul has a MG BGT V8 factory built car. It was originally purchased by the no2 Concorde test pilot and then sold to his friend the test flight engineer Bill Burridge. He sold it 30 years ago and remembers it well.

We met Bill who drove it again at Brooklands . Paul and Bill were interviewed by Brooklands TV for there You Tube program.

A great day , did try and wangle some photographs of my TR with Concorde, failed !!! But a great day. I  will be there at the Easter meeting , well worth a visit.
