We have been out with the TR to the Sunday weekly (during summer) classic car meeting at the Mercedes Benz Museum / Stuttgart.

Constantly coming and going, most just stayed for an hour, not so much crowded as it seams on the photo

Most unarrested was a big group of young americans traveling the world again....

Lots of Mercedes Benz, of course, and lots of American 60- and 70-ies, this was my most favorite (from England, of course).

Ciao, Marco

Marco, before I scrolled down to look and see what "this", your favourite was, I guessed it would be another car. This one...

Took my cousin out to lunch. She was born in 1918.   Tom

Lovely end to a lovely day. Crisp winter coastal run, and down to the beach for a stroll at sundown.  Happy new year all, Deggers

Advance warning : lots of photos coming up

We all squeezed into the TR and headed to the le touquet concours d'élégance, held at the end of the rallye historique that ran over the weekend.

The town was overflowing with beautiful cars today.

Highlights for me were the obvious ones I guess, the 250 lusso was drop dead gorgeous and the bugatti 57g tank and World breaking Rosalie recreation were amazing close-up.

And I would have been very happy driving that lancia aurelia home!

Yes indeed!

The owner told me it's an A40, not Austin bodied cabriolet,

upper midclass at its time and much too expensive,

LHD, re-imported from Canada, 1.8 liter powerfull engine for about 80-100 hp!

He bought it currently in perfect condition for small money via his club connections.

What a lucky guy?!

Possibly he is confused with the Jensen bodied A40, what he has is an A70 Hereford convertible coupe built by Carbodies of Coventry.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin_A70

Though if its got the smaller engine i.e. 1.2ltr then it maybe an A40 as they do look very similar

Hey Marco,

Do the authorities allow classic cars with GB reg. Nos.? Aren't ye forced to change the plates?

Ciao,

  David

Oh, right! I was beginning to feel envious!

Here in Ireland you see classics (in photos of shows) that seem to have UK plates, but maybe they are NI?

We crossed the river Rhein today by ferry to spend a few days at the Pfalz.

Of cause we have bridges here at Germany, but I love to go by ferry when ever possible
