RogerH
Hi Crawfie, this is n joke - a work colleague at BEA/BA started his working life in the RAF. During an engine run (as an apprentice) he was lifted off the ground and sucked into and engine. Thankfully the engine intake had the safety cage on it so he was pinned against that whilst they shut it down. He was definitely shaken but not minced. He still has a good head of hair at the ripe old age of 80+ Roger

SuzanneH
This is Roger in his TR4A yesterday at Janesmore Pond in The New Forest. It was a quiet day in the Forest yesterday and although this looks stormy we managed to miss any rain that was about and probably chose the best day this week weather wise. Charlie D
Turnastone The last time I went past this place (Only a few years ago.) the garage was still open. At the time it was the oldest surviving petrol station still operating in England. It opened in 1922 and closed not quite 100 years later. Grade 2 listed, I hope it will be restored to its former glory soon. Edited June 2, 2021 by Charlie D

All dealings were done from the front room of the house. I hear that a local charity now owns it. I was hoping that it still looked as good as all the other pictures I’d seen on the net. https://petrol-signuk.com/when-did-englands-first-filling-station-open/ Glad you like the car. Charlie.
