Mr Blue Sky
Hi all, Has anyone seen one of these before? Came in the box of bits I was given with the car. Not sure it was fitted to my 56 TR3 but thought I'd post it out of curiosity. Regards,

Hamish
Not seen one of those before. Often wondered why coils didnt have some form of cooling given they seem so susceptible to over heating. Thanks for posting H

Mr Blue Sky
Hi All, I am contemplating trying to install a modern coil and use the outer as a heat sink, whether that ends up heating the coil rather than cooling it, remains to be seen. The current coil has a primary resistance of 3.0 Ohms and a secondary resistance of 7.6k Ohms. I need to put a megger across it to see if the insulation resistance is okay, but it may be worth giving it a go. Laurence
RobTR3
I had one of these on my 1957 TR3. It looked as if it had always been there!. Updated to a modern coil when I fitted a CSI dissy. Sold it to a TR Register member Rob
