My 4A had symptoms of spluttering under acceleration, generally not quite running happily, having 8-9 month old fuel in the tank with a smallish? dose of R40 in the tank ( I kid myself as an upper cylinder lubricant!), twice failed to restart, both times on a hot day after stopping both times to open garage door, started straight away when cooled down, vapour lock I thought. New fuel helped a bit, but still not quite right. Eventually, changed tack, (at weekend) fitted new flamethrower coil, points etc from Dizzy Doc, it now runs like, along with silk, Coventrys' pre auto industry, the proverbial watch. By the way it was still on the original coil & rotor, coil showing 162 ohms primary on my test meter
