Vintage TR shots

Recommended Posts

I am so thrilled that I can post photos from my computer now without that stupid photobucket, so I wanted to show off a couple of vintage TR shots from my research on Hawaii sports car racing. The "Vail Motors" dealership shot is where my TR2 was ordered from when it was new.

Cheers

Dan

Those are terrific images, Dan -- what a treat to see.

(And when I was four or five years old I wore saddle shoes like that, too!)

I think those shoes were called “ Oxfords”.

I'm amazed that all the jags are at the back. Should I be? (I've never had the opportunity to drive one, so maybe they are slower than I think they are...)

They would have been handicapped to the back of the grid due to engine displacement.

Stuart.

Yep -- that style of lacing and vamp is an "Oxford". The two-tone versions of the basic Oxford were called "saddle shoes" over here back then. Here's an image of my saddle shoes from just about when my TR3B was sold the first time.
