pfenlon
The good ship "La Traviata" left Georgetown USA on the 1st of August and will dock late tonight in Southampton. Just passing Lizard point, and the shipping lanes are getting very busy. (Wave Stuart) I enjoy tracking these vessels, but they disappear when mid atlantic until they get nearer their destination. This ship is 91000 tons of your metal, carrying 8000 containers, but a minnow compared with the 19000 that the largest ships can tote.
SeanF
Good stuff Pete. Its amazing that such a narrow stretch of water can cope with such a huge volume of vessels as well as so many pleasure boats and with few incidents.
