richard61
I Have a leak around the fuel sender gasket so it will have to be replaced, should I use a sealant as well and if so which one is recommended?
Waldi
Hi Richard, The gasket is cork, so I will apply some hylomar or similar on mine (again, you are ahead of me????). The packing of the sealent should state it is suitable for fuel. Also fit new flat copper washers under the screws and apply a little bit of sealant on the screws, for belts and braces. I calibrated mine, simulating empty and full position and read the gage with ignition on. Regards, Waldi

Regards, Waldi Hi Richard Stating the obvious, I know, but if you use Hylomar (or similar) on the screws/gasket/tank flange, only apply it lightly on the screws/gasket/tank flange, not allowing any to go into the screw holes. If it gets into the holes, it will push down into the tank. John

Waldi
Hi John, it was obvious to me, but I should have been clearer. Im always surprised how much sealant can come out from between the flanges. Thanks, Waldi
