This Forum just loves to problem solve. Collectively , someone usually has the answer. Keep the questions coming. We love the challenge and appreciate feedback as to whether a particular piece of advice worked or not. Are you doing running repairs or are you in the middle of a restoration ?

The " thanks " is appreciated.

Running repair...I was just checking the car over ready for a trip to the Silverstone Classic this weekend and noticed the aforementioned bolt missing!

Due to time I've done a stop gap temporary fix with a smaller bolt and nut and will replace with the correct one a.s.a.p. now I know what I need.

Cheers

+1 on Peter's advice. This approach is seriously powerful in figuring out fasteners on our cars!

(I have an original copy of that fastener catalog -- most useful.)

The Moss catalogue does the same for most standard fasteners. There is a table in the back listing fasterer type, size to part number.

Very helpful.

Yes, I wrote it with the use of the Standard Triumph Hardware catalogue as continuous reference.

PS In my opinion the one in the back of the Sprite & Midget and the Spitfire catalogues are more comprehensive.
