rodofcv
My 2 has wire wheels. I think I have a leaking near side rear slave cylinder so need to remove the brake drum. I removed the wheel but no setscrews holding the drum were visible! It looks like I need to remove the castellated nut which I assume attaches the wire wheel extension to the axle. I searched the forum to no avail. Can you knowledgeable chaps tell me how to proceed in words of one syllable? I am getting on a bit but didn't think I was totally gaga. Many thanks Rod
EdwinTiben
Is it an original wire wheel hub or with a bolted on hub ? If original, did you remove the collar ? Part 60 https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID200316
ewan2
Rod Assuming it is an early Lockheed axle with pegs to locate the wheel you will have to take the hub off. First you would need to remove the split pin and the nut which may be tight. The fluid could be axle oil as the seals are known to be weak. Ewan Sorry I got this wrong the set screws to remove the drum are behind the collar. Edited July 10, 2018 by ewan2
