AlanG
I have bought a TR crankshaft. Can anybody tell me how to identify whether it's from a TR2, 3 or 4? Also what changes were made during it's production? Thanks Alan.
RogerH
Hi Alan, the early TR2 has the Big-end journal oil outlet at TDC (as per the earlier cars and TRactor). This was soon mod'd to have the outlets at the 3 & 9-o-clock position with the TDC outlet restricted to 5/64" After that not a lot happened. Would be nice to know if there were more differences. The Fergy tractor is very close to the TR design. Big-end oil outlet at TDC and a plain journal for the rear oil lip seal. Roger PS - basically the TR2, 3, 4, 4A crank is the same. Motorsport Mickey
Alan, Ian Cornish completed an excellent article in the Technicalities booklet (now CD) listing the cranks, modifications and numbers, useful for definition. Mick Richards
