Tr3a Hard top options.

Hi.

I would like to fit a hardtop to my Tr3a when I have finished the body restoration. The car goes to the painters later this year. I believe my options are to try and find an original steel hardtop or to buy a new fibre glass one.

 

Advice on what problems I might find fitting and using a fibre glass hardtop would be appreciated.

I recently bought an old steel hard top for my TR3. I came sans hardware and rain channels. These are turning out to be quite expensive and difficult to source. You'll be well ahead of the game if you can find one with the fittings.

I have no knowledge of the fiberglass tops.

Ive got an original steel hard top that i wont get around to fitting if you need one

It needs a little bit of welding but nothing too difficult

I bought a new rear window for it as well

Comes with the alloy rain channels

Definetly trial fit before tub goes for painting , they fit where they touch . If you are at the IWE come and check mine out if you wish

Thanks for your comments. I am looking at a Tr3a this weekend, which has a hardtop fitted, to get a better idea of how it is installed and what parts are needed.
