Rear shock conversion, what not to use

My '72 had tube shocks with these shock mounts when I bought it. I have no idea how long they had been on the car before I bought it, but there was no sign of damage to the frame. Having read of the occasional frame failure resulting from tube shock conversions, I swapped them out for lever shocks when I did a frame off, and sold them on.
