USA-PI
Hello All, Doing a engine rebuild, My Girl Friend is a 73 TR6 VIN# CF 5407 UG, Engine CC-30915-HE, Head FU-218227 have questions; Head Exhaust Valves, what should be the actual correct size, RevingTon TR says they should be 32mm, GoodParts sells 1.255, British Parts Northwest 1.258,(will be adding hardened seats, Bronze guides w/valve stem seals), trying to get a CR of 10:1 Using a unit converter, I get 32mm=1.2598425197, I round that off to 1.260 correct?, And are valve stem seals needed on exhaust valves? Engine current bore is .040, unsure of piston Manufacturer, should I rule out .060, ( it is my understanding, that with this particular block, it should not present a problem. GentelMen, As always, Any and All, Advise, Suggestions or Information. Will be Greatly Appreciated. BTW, still putting in the plumbing for the PI. William F.Tillman. Motorsport Mickey
If the current bores are still good ( if you want a performance mod they can go out to plus 5 thou over Pistons (Pistons aren't round) why not hone them and use it with re ringed Pistons to maintain life in the engine ? Waldi
If the current bores are still good ( if you want a performance mod they can go out to plus 5 thou over Pistons (Pistons aren't round) why not hone them and use it with re ringed Pistons to maintain life in the engine ? Mick Richards That is what I did. Valve guides and seals I bought from Goodparts, good quality, clear fitting instruction, and includes the bush to press the guides in at the correct depth. Goodparts is in USA, so his parts are a lot cheaper for you. Same for new push rods, which you will need when you skim the head.
