Wrigley Tin
This is a related question to a recent/ongoing topic ref: new harness. I am also thinking of purchasing an Autosparks harness however, I wish to rebuild a new fuse box in a more modern style (more than 4 fuses and a couple of relays), After some research of manuals/books and web sites I am at a loss to find any list of power/ current draw of the components that bring a TR6 to life, ok some give indication of starter motor requirements, major lighting but not things like, heater motor, wiper motor, fuel pump, overdrive solenoid, horns, radio ( small I know) etc. Am I looking at the right manuals or not? Is there a definitive list any where, that I can use to decide whether I need relays or a fuse of the correct capacity? Do Autosparks use the same wiring colours as OEM? Your input is appreciated
stuart
Autosparks will do all that for you and fit as many extra correct rated fuses and relays that you require and yes they use Lucas OEM colours. They built me one once that had 20 fuses and 12 relays in a custom made box for a special order TR6 Stuart.
Wrigley Tin
Thanks for the pics and info. Obviously at a price, do you remember a ball park number? Cheers
stuart
That was quite dear as a one off and done 6yrs ago, I think it was about £650 Stuart.
Waldi
I paid some 550 pounds for a complete loom with relais for pump, lights, and wiring for E-fan. Well worth it! Waldi

Wrigley Tin
Gents, Thanks for the replies! Ed, In the North American vernacular -- " that's is exactly what I am talking about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" It is my experience that American web sites are excellent in sharing information, great! ed_h
My pleasure, Jim. You said you were considering building a new expanded fuse/relay box. This may offer a few ideas: http://bullfire.net/TR6/TR6-82/TR6-82.html Ed Edited June 6, 2018 by ed_h
Wrigley Tin
Ed, I have been reading your sectionalised rebuild with great interest and pleasure thanks for the link. How long did this meticulous rebuild take? Your "fuse box" is huge and your placement of it is only possible on a left hand drive model. You have given me loads to think about. We must have similar thought patterns as you have done things the way I was thinking or have/ doing them. Regards Jim
TriumphV8
During my 40 years with TR6 I really seldom had problems with blown fuses. Very often I had trouble with missing relays and switches getting warm or failing. So I would recommend to put lights and PI pump, electric fan and OD on relays and secure that and every additional system with a fuse. Never would I drive an additional circuit directly from the main key switch. I used quality relays because two cheap ones failed and have them all with a mounting eye fixed to the inner wing. I have one more unconnected to swap the connections if one should fail.
