Austin Branson
Hello Mr Gee (do you have a Christian Name?), in my humble opinion, unless you have access to some pretty expensive kit, you really can't put too much faith in the numbers your compression tester gives you. As long as all 6 cylinders give a similar reading, that's fine. Even better if the figures remain similar if you squirt a little engine oil into each bore, and re-test. Let us know what you find. john.r.davies
As Austin says, you cannot compare readings between different guages - they are neither precision instruments nor calibrated. But comparison across the block, or between two engines on the same day, can be most valuable. A suspected low reading that does not rise with oil added is due to a valve problem not bore/piston rings.
JochemsTR
drive to your local garage around the corner.....put a few pence in the coffee jar.....check at least one or two cylinders (hot, throttle open). At least you know whether your tester's reading is off. No, 110 is too low. Jochem
