jeff poole
Can anyone tell me what tyre pressures you should run if you fit larger wheels/tyres? Do you simply stick to the same pressures as recommended for standard wheels/tyres? I am currently running 205/50's all around on 15 inch wheels using standard pressures. Guest hodgie
Jeff, I guess it really differs according to the tyres you run, how heavy the car is and road conditions if you want to get very 'technical'. Some tyres are stiffer than others (particularly side walls). Some like to run al ittle flatter and get more 'purchase' on the road that way, others just feel sloppy if not pressurised enough. I think the answer is to play around a bit and see what works. 24- 32 range?? I always run my fronts quite high, not so good technically, but helps the steering Anyone else?? jeff poole
Thanks, Hodgie. Sorry to steal the thread, but it did seem relevant. In the past I have found you don't discover the effects of over/under-inflation until it's too late, i.e. your tyres are worn in the wrong places! I must say that the standard pressures do make the steering heavy still and I do have the needle bearing modification to the strut tops. Jeff
